Funny situation you had that involved your bike: The first day I rode my brand new Street Glide to work. As I got on Rt. 395 N. and got up to speed, I noticed I had not fastened the hard cover on my right side hard saddle-bag properly and it had popped open. I pulled over into the breakdown lane by the entrance ramp onto 395 near Exit 5 N. I put the kickstand down, got off the bike and leaned over the rear fender to secure the lid. I suddenly had the feeling that I was falling backwards! What had happened was that I'd parked the bike with the kickstand on the high side and the bike did a slow roll onto the engine guard...I was struggling to get the bike up when some one stopped and helped me. I thought I was set but then it wouldn't start...thought I broke my new bike! What I didn't know, was that there was a tilt kill switch that had to be reset before the bike would flow fuel and start! Now I do.

Tell us about a humorous and embarrassing moment (you’re willing to share): My uncle had given me a 1962 Chevrolet Biscayne to fix up for when I got my license. (I was fourteen at the time.) We had some old fire roads in the woods behind our house. I used to get home after school and my friends and I would sneak the car out and "practice" driving on the fire roads. At that time my style of driving was what would eventually make the "Dukes of Hazard" a popular TV show. One afternoon while we were bombing around the woods, I hit a bump, caught some air and the front bumper hit a tree, the rear end came around and the car settled in stuck between two trees. One in front - one in back. The rear wheels were barely touching the ground. Needless to say we couldn't get the car out. I had to leave it in the woods, go home and wait for my Dad to get home from work. When he got home he immediately noticed the missing car. After explaining why the car wasn't in the yard like it was supposed to be, Dad got out the chain saw and we walked into the woods to where the car was stuck. We had to cut the trees down to get the car out. (I didn't find out until a few years ago that although he was acting angry with me, it was all he could do to keep from busting out laughing!)
Tell us about someone you admire and why: My Dad - we were never really close until I got older and could appreciate all he'd accomplished in his life. I learned a lot from how he lived the last years of his life.
